Announcing yaVDR 0.4 pre2 ISO Image
All the work that has been done on upcoming yaVDR 0.4 since our first test ISO pre1 back in July is now available bundled into a second test ISO called pre2. Testers are welcome to re-install and submit bugs to our bugtracker.
Please download the ISO yavdr64-0.4.0-pre2.iso from our download page.
What has changed since pre1?
- Now ships with VDR developer version 1.7.21 (pre1 was shipping with 1.7.18)
- New XBMC version (now based on pipelkas code) including a switch from vdr-plugin-vnsi to vdr-plugin-xvdr. In XBMC, the PVR addon necessary is now called xvdr. XBMC + PVR is still a huge construction site and for now we are switching to packages built from the code within the Git repositories of pipelka (being aware of the controverse opinions regarding vnsi/xvdr): https://github.com/pipelka/xbmc-addon-xvdr and https://github.com/pipelka/xbmc
- Improved detection of necessary DVB drivers for DVB hardware present in system during installation.
- More remote controls work out-of-the-box (thanks to eventlircd and the configuration files we provide) as soon as the USB receiver is connected to the HTPC (hotplug possible).
- Incompatible change to pre1 regarding remote control setup in Web Frontend: eventlircd is now always enabled, LIRC may be enabled in addition if a remote control / receiver is used that belongs to the list of undetectable receiver devices (mainly receivers connected to the serial port)
- Many updated packages
People updating from pre1 to pre2 via apt-get upgrade / dist-upgrade may experience some problems (XBMC, remote configuration). If you want to seriously help the yaVDR team, please install pre2 from scratch.
